Hassanat Charity for Human Development Visits Sidon Municipality to Discuss Areas of Joint Cooperation

Hassanat Charity for Human Development visited Sidon Municipality as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen humanitarian and development work. The visiting delegation included Mr. Hussein Farhoud, Executive Director of Secours Humanitaire France, the main partner and key supporter of Hassanat Charity’s projects in Lebanon. The delegation was received by the Mayor of Sidon, Mr. Mustafa Hijazi, who welcomed the visit and praised the association’s efforts across humanitarian, social, and developmental fields. During the meeting, several public issues and avenues for joint cooperation between the association and the municipality were discussed, particularly development projects in the city. These included cleaning the seaside corniche, addressing certain service-related challenges, and following up on the situation of electricity generators in Sidon and its surroundings, especially Ain El Helweh Camp. The Mayor committed to addressing this file and following it up directly with the relevant authorities. The Mayor emphasized the importance of these issues and the efforts being made to address them and improve service conditions in the city, in cooperation with active stakeholders. The meeting also highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships between civil society organizations and the municipality, given their positive impact on enhancing social solidarity and achieving sustainable development in Sidon and its surroundings. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue communication and coordination, in a manner that serves the interests of the city’s residents and reinforces the spirit of cooperation in service of humanity and the community.
